Your General ATX Tires Grabber are good for most weather conditions, including light snow, but will struggle a little if the snow is heavy. Pros and Cons of General Grabber ATX Tires In other words, you when you buy these tires at middle-of-the-road prices, you are actually getting a lot of value for your money. If it were not for the manufacturers issuing their tires at good wholesale prices, it is fair to say that these tires would cost a lot more when buying from retailers. That is why they are very difficult to find at a low price. The tires are mid-price ranged tires, and yet they are very durable, they work very well on rough terrain, and they last a good long while. They cannot withstand very deep snow, but the General Tire ATX Grabber tires do far better with a heavy load, while on snow, than most other tires in their price range. They are also better than average when it comes to icy and snowy roads. Your average General Tire Grabber ATX is built for people who like to spend most of their time off road. Tyre wear is good and despite being loaded quite heavily and some very spirited driving they are still averaging between 10-12mm of tread they where 14mm new. There are some tires that are made to go off road all the time, and others that are made for mostly on-roading with the ability to go off road. Sidewalls are very strong and despite trips around sharp rocky tracks i have never had an issue which is nice living in a flinty area of the UK. They arent noisy on the road even for mud tyres but they offer great comfort over the rough road conditions of Britain they tyres Bag a little at the bottom but this makes them alot more comfortable than the previous Cooper ST Maxx that was on there before.

I purchased a set of Grabber X3s for my Land rover discovery 2 back in 2020 after i was unable to get replacement cooper ST Maxx in this size after watching the Expedition overland videos on Youtube and previous good experiences with grabber tyres i thought i would give them ago.Ģ Years later they have done 15k miles some off road in the Wales around Salisbury plain and around lots of byways and farms in the UK and they have been amazing great grip off road and surprisingly good grip on road wet and dry while yes it isnt a performance low profile tyre it handles very well with some 'excitable' driving. All sizes of this off-road specialist are approved for speeds of up to 100 mph. With an M+S mark and the snowflake symbol to indicate its all-season suitability, the Grabber X3 will be available in 19 different sizes for 15- to 19-inch rims. For on-road use the Grabber X3 is better than its predecessor in terms of wet performance and noise, while there is a ten per cent improvement on snow-covered ground. Compared to the tyre’s predecessor, its performance on sand and in loose gravel has been improved by five per cent, while performance over rocky terrain by ten per cent. Grabber X3 has a three-ply structure that provides additional strength and puncture resistance.

A series of deflection ribs protect the sidewalls against damage from stones or gravel, which makes for highly robust performance in tough terrain. When driving over rocks, grip edges arranged at different angles in the tyre’s tread delivers maximum grip in every direction. The tyre’s unique design has chamfered block edges with wider tread grooves and narrow grooves in the tread base to enable stones to be displaced faster to prevent them from lodging when travelling over gravel. All three rely on a tread pattern that features deep grooves, channels for mud evacuation and staggered edges, which makes for high levels of grip on sand, mud and gravel. To help them meet a demanding set of specifications, General Tire’s development engineers created three new technologies: “Extreme Mud (X Mud)” for maximum traction in deep mud, “Extreme Dirt (X Dirt)” for driving on dirt and gravel, and “Extreme Rock (X Rock)” for tackling rocky terrain. The new Grabber X3 is a SUV/all-terrain tyre for on and off-road use, with a clear emphasis on off-road with an 80/20 off/on-road weighting.
